A woman has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving, said Surrey Police

A cyclist has been seriously injured in a collision with a car in Surrey.

Officers were called to the crash on Staple Lane, East Clandon, at about 12:45 BST on Friday.

The cyclist, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital, said Surrey Police.

The driver of the car involved, a woman in her 70s, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving, the force confirmed.

Police asked witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch.
