Man dies after being hit by car in Worthing

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle on a main road in Worthing.

The incident happened on the A27 Arundel Road near Teign Walk at 20:00 GMT on Wednesday.

A 69-year-old man was confirmed dead at the scene, according to Sussex Police.

His next of kin have been informed.

The A27 was closed in both directions for several hours.

Police say they are undertaking enquiries to establish the circumstances around the collision and are asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
