Jersey Hospice Care has launched its strategy for the next three years.

He added the new strategy, external meant "we are best placed to meet this increasing demand".
'Financial challenges'
Mr Palfreman said: "It’s essential islanders receive dignified, high quality, and individualised end of life care, and their loved ones are supported both before and after their death.
"Our new strategy will ensure we are best placed to meet this increasing demand, and that we are directly aligned with the island’s first Palliative and End of Life Care Strategy, external – which launched in October 2023.
“We know we will face challenges along the way, especially financial – with rising costs on an almost daily basis, but we can look forward with optimism.
"We have an incredible and committed team of hospice volunteers and colleagues, and we have a unique role in the lives of islanders.”
The hospice identified five strategic priorities:
Extending their reach across the community
Creating a specialist centre for best practice and learning
Enhancing islanders’ awareness and understanding about the work of hospice
Growing and developing people to be the best they can be
Achieving financial sustainability to enable the hospice to develop the right services and provide for the future needs of islanders
