Two people went to hospital following a chemical incident at a Devon business.
The South Western Ambulance Service said it was called to Eurotech on Salterton Road, Exmouth, at about 08:40 BST to reports of a chemical-related incident.
An ambulance spokesperson said eight people were treated at the scene and another person was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for further treatment.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the building had to be evacuated and another person took themselves to hospital after the incident was dealt with.
Exmouth fire station watch manager Chris Gibbs said crews from Middlemoor in Exeter and Newton Abbot were also called out.
Mr Gibbs added: "One patient was taken by ambulance to hospital and another person presented themselves to hospital in Exeter."
He said the incident had been dealt with and staff at the business had returned to work.
'Took every precaution'
Eurotech said two workers came into direct contact with chemicals and went to hospital to be assessed.
It said no-one was harmed and the pair who went to hospital have since been discharged.
"We took every precaution and immediately evacuated the building in accordance with our standard protocols and alerted the authorities and emergency services.
"We can’t thank the ambulance service and fire service enough for responding so quickly," the firm said.
