Stapleford Road in Stopsley was closed by police

Police are trying to determine if a man who has been injured in Luton was deliberately run over by a car.

Bedfordshire Police was called to Stapleford Road, Stopsley, shortly after 18:00 BST on Thursday after reports of the incident involving a car and a pedestrian.

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers said an attempted grievous bodily harm investigation had been launched.
