A new urgent treatment centre (UTC) has opened in Plymouth.
The new centre is located in the new Dartmoor Building at Derriford Hospital.
The University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust said the new service would be open every day from 08:00 to 20:00 for patients of any age.
Bosses said the centre was designed to treat a range of minor illnesses and injuries, such as limb fractures, minor illness, sprains and strains, minor head injuries, minor scalds and burns, bites and stings, foreign body in eyes and infected wounds and cuts.
The hospital, which covers much of Devon and Cornwall, said final checks found a modification was needed to ensure compliance with building regulations, delaying a previously planned opening on 21 August.
The trust said: "The UTC is located at the top of the Derriford Hospital site.
"There are 14 drop-off and two disabled spaces each with a 30-minute waiting limit available.
"Please note that this new centre is an addition to the Urgent Treatment Centre located at the Cumberland Centre in Devonport."
Consultant in emergency medicine Dr Anne Hicks added : "We look forward to seeing you and welcoming patients."
