Police are appealing for dashcam footage to identify the registration of a car after a runner was injured in a hit-and-run crash.

Leicestershire Police said the runner was struck by a black Volkswagen Passat on the B585 Bosworth Lane, between the A447 and Newbold Verdon, at about 14:40 BST on Thursday.

The runner was injured and the car, which was "likely" to have damage to the passenger side, failed to stop at the scene, the force added.

Police urged anyone with information or who knew of someone who owned a black Volkswagen Passat with "recent damage" to come forward.
