Two people have been taken to hospital after a "high-speed" crash.
Emergency services were called to Ollerton Road in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, shortly before 04:45 BST on Monday.
A man in his 30s and a woman aged in her 20s, who were both in the car at the time of the crash, were taken to the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham.
The man is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries, while the woman's injuries were not as serious, Nottinghamshire Police added.
A road closure remains in place on the A6075 in both directions, from The Royal Oak pub to the Ollerton roundabout, while an investigation at the scene continues.
The force advised people to avoid the area.
