A woman suffered a broken ankle when the floor of a house in Bradford fell through, leaving her needing to be rescued from the building's cellar.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance crew, attended the scene at Tichborne Road on Saturday morning.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said the woman sustained an open fracture to her ankle and was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary hospital for treatment.
As well as the air ambulance, two ambulances, a hazardous area response team and four rapid response vehicles also attended the incident at about 08:15 BST.
Firefighters from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to the address just before 12:30 BST to help free the trapped woman.
"Fire crews from Bradford and our tech rescue team assisted Yorkshire Ambulance Service and HART to extricate one casualty from basement of property," a spokesperson said.
A second casualty was walked to safety, they added.
Crowds of people had gathered as the street was cordoned off.
Rani Shah, 38, told the BBC: "We thought it might have been a murder, because of how many police there were.
"To wake up and see all this on my street, on my doorstep, you don't expect it."
"I hope the person who has been injured is all right," Mr Shah added.
