Man dies two weeks after being hit by bus

A man has died after being hit by a bus on Smethwick High Street last month.

Police said the 49-year-old was struck on 26 March and died in hospital on 9 April.

West Midlands Police said the bus driver would face no further action, but a file would be prepared for the coroner.

At the time of the incident, West Midlands Ambulance Service said the man was a pedestrian who had been found in a serious condition and received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken to hospital.
