The supermarket briefly shut due to an isolated connectivity issue

A Sainsbury's supermarket has reopened after a connectivity issue forced it to temporarily close down.

The St Marks store on Raglan Street, Wolverhampton, and its petrol station both shut to customers on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the retailer has said the connectivity issue was "isolated" and in no way connected to the worldwide IT outage.

The store was able to reopen at about 14:00 BST the same day.

On Friday, a number of services including airports, GP services, rail operators and supermarkets around the world suffered problems due to the IT outage.

Cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike said a "content update" for its Windows hosts was to blame for that.
