A biker has died in a crash with a tanker in East Lothian.

The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene on Wednesday following the smash involving a Scania tanker and Kawasaki ZX 900E1 bike on the B1345.

Police closed the road, about 1.5 miles north of Drem, for several hours while an initial investigation took place shortly after 07:30.

The driver of the tanker was uninjured. Officers appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward, external.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: “Our inquiries are continuing into the circumstances of this collision in which a man sadly died, and our thoughts are with his family at this time."
