About 100 firefighters have been tackling a fire that broke out in a block of flats in Walthamstow, north-east London.

Two flats on the fifth and sixth floors of the block on Collendale Road were alight, as well as the roof of the building, London Fire Brigade (LFB) said. The flames have now been brought under control

The seven-storey building was evacuated and nearby roads have been closed off.

A woman and a child were treated by paramedics at the scene but were not admitted to hospital.

The cause of the fire is not currently known, LFB said
