Police have confirmed they are not treating the "unexplained" death of a man in a square in Northampton town centre as suspicious.

Officers were called to St Giles' Square at 05:00 BST and temporarily closed the area while they investigated the circumstances surrounding the death.

The affected roads, including St Giles', Derngate, and Wood Hill junctions, have since reopened.

Police are now appealing for information from anyone who may have been in the vicinity of All Saints Church and St Giles' Square between 04:30 and 05:00.
