Remembrance services will be held for families affected by baby loss.

The events, which will take place in Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe during October, have been designed to offer families a time of reflection, an opportunity to light a candle and the option of having their baby's name read out.

They have been arranged by Jenna Cadden, a bereavement midwife, and Jo Milns of the NHS Humber Health Partnership.

"This is our way of saying their babies will never be forgotten," Ms Cadden said.

"We know families cherish every moment they spent with their babies, no matter how short that time may be, and that their love for their child lasts a lifetime," she added.

  • A service for families living in and around Grimsby will be held at The Salvation Army, on Duncombe Street, on 12 October at 15:00 BST

  • The Scunthorpe service will take place at St Lawrence's Church, Church Lane, on 18 October at 14:00 BST.

  • People in Hull and the East Riding can attend the service at Horncastle Hall, Hull College, Wilberforce Drive, on 19 October, from 14:00 BST. People are asked to book a place.

Light refreshments will be available and people will be able to meet other families following the service.
