Plans have been submitted to build 100 homes on the edge of a Gloucestershire village.

Persimmon Homes is asking Tewkesbury Borough Council for permission to develop 33.6 acres of land off Evesham Road, Bishop's Cleeve.

The developer says it hope to create a "distinctive development" that "responds" to its surroundings.

The public consultation period will close on 10 September, with the council expected to consider the proposals by 18 November.

Part of the proposals include new footpaths, cycle routes, and a school drop-off car park

Other features include areas of open space, which will include play space, new surface water drainage, and new landscaping and habitat creation, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

"The site is highly sustainable and well located to provide safe and convenient access to the services, facilities, pedestrian and cycle network and public transportation in Bishop's Cleeve," the planning application reads.

"The design facilitates car-free movement through a series of pathways and routes through the site that link to the existing Cleevelands development and to the surrounding countryside."

People can view and comment on the proposals by visiting the council’s planning portal and searching for application number 24/00573/OUT.
