Residents allowed back home after device removed

Residents were told to leave their homes on Richmond Road on Wednesday morning

Householders in Towcester have been allowed to return home following the disposal of a suspicious device.
Northamptonshire Police was called to Richmond Road shortly after 11:00 BST.
Bomb disposal experts were at the scene, and a cordon was established around the area.
As a precaution, homes in the immediate vicinity were evacuated.
A police spokeswoman said: "The device was not deemed to be active and was taken away."
