Man dies in hospital days after being hit by car

The 50-year-old died four days after the crash in Paisley

A man has died after he and a fellow pedestrian were hit by a car in Paisley.

The 50-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow last Wednesday following the incident on Hawkhead Road.

He died as a result of his injuries on Sunday, police confirmed.

The other man, aged 40, was also taken to hospital for treatment on serious injuries.

Police closed the road for more than eight hours following the incident while an initial investigation was carried out.

Officers have appealed for anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward and share it with officers.
