Train passengers in Birmingham are facing delays and cancellations due to a fallen tree.

According to National Rail, the blockage happened near Aston, which has affected trains running between Lichfield Trent Valley, Walsall and Birmingham New Street via Aston.

Routes between Wolverhampton and Walsall, between Lichfield Trent Valley and Bromsgrove and also between Four Oaks and Redditch are also expected to be affected.

Disruption is expected to continue until 18:15 BST and rail replacement buses have been provided between Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield in both directions.

It comes ahead of a Met Office yellow weather warning for wind caused by Storm Amy that will cover the entirety of the West Midlands on Saturday.

The warning is set to come into effect from midnight and will last until 19:00 the same day.
