A woman has died following a fire at her home in Alloa.
Emergency services were called to Primrose Street in the Clackmannanshire town just before 05:00 on Sunday.
The woman was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert where she was later pronounced dead. Her death is being treated as unexplained.
Police said that a "small number" of neighbouring properties were evacuated and asked people to avoid the area.
Det Insp Graeme Connolly said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this time.
"We are continuing to coordinate with partners in response to the fire and a joint investigation with SFRS to establish the full circumstances will be carried out in due course."
The SFRS said four appliances responded to the incident.
Primrose Street and Primrose Place have been closed off and emergency services remain at the scene.
