A cinema in Brighton is to reopen after it was forced to close because of structural issues at the leisure complex where it is housed.

The Kingswest complex, which houses the Odeon cinema, Pryzm nightclub and a number of food and drink outlets, shut its doors in October.

Brighton Shore Limited, which owns the building, said at the time it was aware of "serious issues" with the building.

In a statement on Friday, Odeon Cinema Group said it would begin showing films again in February. It is unclear if the whole complex will also reopen.

Fiona Middleton, area manager at Odeon Brighton said: "We would like to thank all guests for their patience and can't wait to see you soon."

Brighton Shore Limited, Brighton & Hove City Council and the operators of Pryzm have been contacted for comment.
