Two people die after car and van crash on A9

Two people have died following a crash between a car and a van on the A9 near Slochd, south of Inverness.
The 45-year-old woman and 43-year-old man were in a white Ford Fiesta car involved in the collision with a white Vauxhall Vivaro. They died at the scene.
Emergency services were called to the crash at about 07:10 and the road was closed for more than seven hours to allow for a police investigation.
Two men in the van were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment before being later discharged.
Sgt Chris Donaldson, of the Highland and Islands road policing unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of both people who died.
"Our investigation to establish what led to this collision is ongoing and we would urge anyone with information or dashcam footage which would assist our inquiry to get in touch, external."
He added: "Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0441 of 15 September, 2025."
