Attempted murder arrest after serious assault

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said officers were called to reports of a serious assault on Forton Road in Portsmouth in the early hours of Friday.
A 36-year-old woman from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. She has been released on conditional bail.
Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with doorbell camera, CCTV or dashcam footage of the area to get in touch.
