A new bus route connecting nearby villages to Nottingham has launched.

From Monday, the Green 11 service has linked the city with Spire Hospital, Tollerton, Cotgrave, Hollygate Park and Cropwell Bishop.

The extended service, which has replaced the 33 route, runs every hour from Monday to Saturday during the day.

Within Nottingham, the Nottingham City Transport-operated Green 11 continues to run up to every 20 minutes.

The extended Green 11's first bus arrives in Nottingham just before 07:00, and the last bus departs from the city just after 18:00, said the bus firm.

Parts of the former 33 route not served by the Green 11 will be covered by Nottinghamshire County Council through changes to the 747 and 833 services.
