Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was raped in Oxford.

On Tuesday the woman met and was speaking to her attacker near a Travelodge on Abingdon Road at about 23:50 GMT. He then led her to a field where he sexually assaulted her, Thames Valley Police said.

The man is thought to have ridden off on a bicycle and may have been carrying a blue or green delivery bag.

He is described as being of black mixed heritage, around 35 to 37 years old, with a beard and short black hair.

Det Insp Krista Thompson asked anyone with information to come forward, and said people should also check CCTV or dash cam footage of the area.
