A man has been charged with firearms and drugs offences after shotguns were found at a property in Coventry.

West Midlands Police said the two weapons, one a sawn-off shotgun, were discovered during a raid by the force's gangs team on St James’ Lane on Tuesday morning.

The 23-year-old is accused of possession with intent to supply heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis, as well as possession of a shotgun without a certificate and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The suspect was due to appear before magistrates in the city on Thursday, while a woman, 70, who was also arrested on Tuesday has been released on bail.
