Reward of £10k offered for mosque arson tip-offs

Crimestoppers is offering up to £10,000 for information relating to an arson attack on an East Sussex mosque which took place while worshippers were inside.
The charity has announced the reward for any tip-offs it exclusively receives which lead to convictions over the incident on Phyllis Avenue, Peacehaven, on 4 October, which saw the entrance and a parked car set alight.
Four men have been arrested so far on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, all of whom have been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue, according to Sussex Police.
Those arrested include a 46-year-old man and three other men aged 25, 27 and 22.

The charity said it is "crucial those involved face justice"
Crimestoppers said: "This appalling attack on people praying could have been fatal, so it's crucial those involved face justice."
CCTV footage previously released by police shows two people, wearing masks and dark clothing, approaching the front door of the building before spraying accelerant on its entrance and igniting it.
The incident, which is being treated as a hate crime, was described by residents in the area as "disgraceful", while Khuram Kiani, a founding member of the mosque, called it "terrifying and shocking".
Annabelle Goodenough, south east regional manager for Crimestoppers, said: "We know how difficult it can be to speak up about crime.

Two men were captured on CCTV before the fire broke out
"If you know who was involved and don't want to talk to the police, then Crimestoppers is here for you.
"We guarantee total anonymity to everyone – meaning that when you contact us via our website or on the phone, we'll never ask for any of your personal details."
She added that the reward is available for three months and is due to expire on 17 January 2026.
Speaking earlier this month, Det Insp Gavin Patch dubbed the attack "appalling and reckless", adding that it "will have left many people feeling less safe".
