Man charged after missing injured woman is found

A man has been charged following an assault in Southend-on-Sea

Police have charged a man in connection with the disappearance of a woman thought to have been the victim of a serious assault.
Officers were called to an alleged assault in Old Southend Road, Southend, Essex, at about 23:00 GMT on Friday, but the victim could not be located.
Essex police had initially appealed for help in locating the victim, who had reportedly left the scene with head injuries. She has since been found safe.
A 52-year-old man has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage and affray.
He will appear before magistrates in Southend on Monday, police said.
