Man dies and woman hurt in single-car crash
A man died and a woman was hurt in the crash on Hollyfield Road, Sutton Coldfield, the ambulance service said

A man died and a woman was hurt in a crash which involved one car.
The two people in the car, which crashed in Hollyfield Road, Sutton Coldfield, in the West Midlands, on Thursday, were an elderly woman, who was the driver, and an elderly male passenger, the ambulance service said.
Paramedics found the man in a critical condition being cared for by an off-duty nurse and began to give him life support.
They also treated the woman for potentially serious injuries and took her to hospital after the crash at 10:10 GMT but the man died at the scene.
