Police issued a dispersal order after reports of noise, anti-social behaviour and disorder in Leicester.
Officers were called to Chelwood Lane in the city's Abbey Ward at 00:30 GMT on Sunday after complaints about a large gathering at a property.
They dispersed the crowds and at 02:27 put the order in place, which provided officers with the power to arrest people who refused to leave a specific area.
The order, which covered Chelwood Lane, Ashcroft Avenue, Haydon Lane, Upton Gardens and Somerset Avenue, was lifted at 12:30.

Police powers were initially set to remain into Monday morning
Sgt Marc Overton, from the West Leicester Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA), had said: "I appreciate some of this behaviour may have gotten out of hand with such a large group of people.
"The dispersal order makes it an offence to remain in the boundary of the order if an officer asks you to leave.
"While no arrests were made in this instance, if you refuse to leave, you will be issued with a notice and arrested if you refuse to comply with the conditions not to return.
"Beat officers are completing high-visibility patrols around the area to prevent recurrence and for community reassurance."
