A coastal path has been closed in east Devon following a cliff fall, coastguards have said.

Beer Coastguard Rescue Team was sent by the HM Coastguard to investigate the fall between Peak Hill and High Peak in Sidmouth on Saturday.

The service closed the path and asked people to "please avoid this area".

It advised people to stay back from the cliff edge, take note of the warning signs and to call 999 and ask for the coastguard if anyone is in difficulty.
