A major street has been partly sealed off in Glasgow city centre after a fire broke out in a six-storey commercial building.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said seven appliances and specialist resources were sent to the scene on West Nile Street at 16:31.

A spokesperson confirmed firefighters were working to contain the blaze.

They added: "There are no reported casualties after a full building evacuation being carried out.

"Members of the public are asked to keep away from the area and nearby residents advised to close windows and doors to prevent smoke inhalation."

Police Scotland said West Nile Street had been closed from Renfield Street to Bath Street.
