About 450 pigs have died in an overnight fire at a farm in County Tyrone.

Firefighters were called to reports of a farm shed on fire on the Fyfin Road area of Newtownstewart on Sunday night.

Crews from eight different stations were mobilised and they dealt with the blaze in about four hours.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said it is treating the fire as accidental.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels jets to bring the fire under control and to stop it from spreading," a NIFRS spokesperson said.

About 1,200 pigs died in a separate fire at a farm in Coleraine last month.
