A train provider has warned of "significant disruption" to many of its key routes on Sunday due to "crew availability".

In a social media post , externalGreat Western Railway (GWR) advised passengers to avoid travel "unless absolutely necessary".

It also specifically advised those wishing to travel to Bath Christmas market to consider other available travel options as further delays and cancellations could occur throughout the day.

Services running from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads and beyond are expected to be badly affected with local services in Bristol also being impacted.

In the statement GWR said that "fewer trains will run and they will be extremely busy".

GWR added that all Sunday travel tickets will also be valid on Monday 16 December.

Passengers who no longer wish to use their tickets are entitled to a full refund through GWR.
