Summer concerts in doubt after 'clerical error'

The concerts take place in Taunton's Vivary Park

A music festival which usually takes place over several days in the summer is now in doubt after a "clerical error", organisers have said.
Live In Somerset usually takes place in Vivary Park in Taunton every summer, hosting the likes of Busted, Status Quo and Sophie Ellis Bextor.
However, organisers LCC Live said they have been unable to book the venue for the August Bank Holiday weekend, and now need to find an alternative.
It comes as a new 80s-themed event, run by different organisers, will take place at the park on the August Bank Holiday weekend, headlined by Howard Jones and Heaven 17.
In a statement, LCC Live said finding a new date or a new venue is "proving logistically very difficult and we are continuing to explore all options currently."
They added they hope to issue an update by the end of January on whether the 2026 festival will run.
A LCC Live spokesperson added: "Producing a concert event like Live in Somerset is very costly and we really need it to be a three/four-night event to make it financially work, and deliver the quality of artists and events we have done for over the past years and you have come to enjoy."
Live in Somerset took a break this year, after revealing it was unable to secure the mix of artists it wanted, adding it had already booked some performers for 2026.
Organiser of Electric Summer, the one-day 80s festival in Taunton, Jez Damsell, told BBC Radio Somerset he believed the event would bring "significant footfall" to the town, and has "serious interest".
