A thief who stole items worth a total of nearly £7,500 on 46 different trips to three shops has been given a suspended jail term.

Benjamin Frape, 37, of Hilltop Close, Ascot, admitted stealing the items between 9 January and 20 May at stores across Bracknell.

He stole £6,309 worth of wine and groceries from a BP garage in Bagshot Road, Bracknell, during 40 visits, took items worth £570 from Tesco Express in Horndean Road in five trips and £544 of clothing from Sports Direct in the town.

On 25 July, Reading magistrates gave him a 40-week jail term, suspended for 18 months, and barred him from entering BP, Tesco or Tesco Express stores across Bracknell Forest until 27 January 2027.

He must also undertake a rehabilitation course for 15 days.
