The roadworks in Taunton were due to end in September

Major roadworks that have seen 1,750 metres of gas pipes upgraded have ended more than two weeks early, after months of disruption for motorists.
Work on Silk Mills Road in Taunton, Somerset, began in April to replace old gas pipes, and was due to finish on 7 September.
Wales and West Utilities said that by "prioritising" different sections, the work was completed ahead of schedule and it thanked the local community for "bearing with us whilst we completed this essential work".
Reopening the A3065 Silk Mills Road, and lifting traffic management on the A38 Wellington New Road, will start later, and normal bus services will resume on Saturday morning.
Roxanne Whittaker, who managed the work for Wales and West Utilities, added: "We are pleased to complete this project two weeks ahead of schedule.
"While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across the wider area.
"Whether it's heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it."
She added that the work would make sure the gas network is "ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play our part in a green future".
