A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found outside a shop in Birmingham with multiple stab wounds.

The 27-year-old victim remains in hospital after the attack in Heath Way, Shard End, on Monday.

West Midlands Police arrested a 22-year-old man on Wednesday on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm, following a search at his home address where a live firearm and ammunition were found.

Police said the 22-year-old man remained in custody for questioning.

Det Insp Tom Lyons, from the force's major crime unit, said: "We are continuing our investigation to establish the details around what happened.

"CCTV enquiries are ongoing and we are speaking with a number of witnesses."
