Murder arrests after man killed in car park fight

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died following a fight in a car park in Rotherham.

Police were called to trouble between a group of men in Drummond Street just after midnight.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was taken to hospital, but died on Tuesday morning.

A 36-year-old woman and three men aged 37, 26 and 45, were arrested on suspicion of murder, South Yorkshire Police said.

The area remained cordoned off by police on Tuesday afternoon.

Det Ch Insp Ben Wood said: "Inquiries are continuing at pace as detectives try to piece together the circumstances behind this man's death.

"Officers are also working hard to identify the man so they can inform his next of kin of this tragic news.

"There will be additional patrols in the area for community reassurance, and I would encourage anyone with any concerns to speak to our officers at the cordon.

"They are there to support you, advise you and keep you safe."

Anyone with information about what happened was urged to contact South Yorkshire Police.
