People in Woking have the chance to preview improvements planned for the town's library.

The venue is to get a more flexible layout, including a performance space, new furniture and toilets and more study space.

A drop-in session for residents to find out more will be held on 17 June.

The library will be closed from 11 to 19 July for work to be carried out, with a click and collect service offered for users wanting to borrow and return items.

Other improvements include meeting rooms and the library being added to the list of those offering Super Access, external, where technology is used to offer longer opening hours to registered members.

It is expected the work will be completed by January 2025.
