Man killed in triple stabbing 'had a gentle heart'

Wayne Broadhurst will be remembered for "willingness to help others"

A man who was killed in a triple stabbing in west London had a "gentle heart" and "never shied away from helping his community", his family have said in a tribute.

Wayne Broadhurst was out walking his dog on Monday afternoon when he was fatally attacked in Midhurst Gardens in Uxbridge. Two others were also injured, one seriously.

His family added that the 49-year-old was "a devoted and hardworking man who spent his life serving his community as a waste services worker".

Safi Dawood, 22, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court earlier charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.

The family tribute added: "His love for animals showed the gentle heart behind his strong work ethic, and his passion for Liverpool FC was something he loved to share with others.

"His loss has left a deep void, not only in the hearts of his family and friends, but across the community he quietly cared for.

"Wayne will be remembered for his kindness, his loyalty, and his genuine willingness to help others. His absence is felt profoundly, and his memory will continue to live on in our community."

Officers and paramedics were called to reports of a triple stabbing at about 17:00 GMT.

Mr Broadhurst died at the scene after suffering multiple stab wounds, the court heard.

A 14-year-old boy and Shahzad Farrukh, 45, were also treated for stab injuries.

Mr Farrukh remains in hospital with life-changing injuries and the teenager who had injuries to his hand has been discharged, the court was told.

Mr Dawood, of Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge was remanded into custody and is due to appear before the Old Bailey on Monday.

He has also been charged with one count of possessing an offensive weapon following the incident.
