A music festival that over the years featured the likes of Jess Glynne, Olly Murs and Chase & Status will not return next year, organisers have said.

The Sundown Festival was set to be held at the Norfolk Showground, near Norwich, on 29 August.

However, organisers said the event had been cancelled and refunds for purchased tickets would be "processed automatically".

A statement on the festival's website, external described the past 12 years as an "unforgettable journey".

"What started as humble beginnings grew into a five-stage camping festival, partnering with iconic music brands and artists, surviving a pandemic, and even taking Sundown to Malta," the statement read.

"We want to express our deepest gratitude… Most of all, a huge thank you to our fans — you've been the heartbeat of Sundown.

"Your energy, passion, and memories have made everything possible, and we'll never forget the moments we shared together."

The festival was marketed as "Norfolk's bass and pop music festival"

The festival began in 2013 after its previous incarnation - Norfolk Spectacular - was renamed.

It went on to become one of the region's biggest festivals, attracting thousands of fans each year.

Organisers have not given a reason for the cancellation and have been approached for comment.
