Plans for a redeveloped Fort Regent are going to be released at the beginning of 2025, according to the head of the Jersey Development Company (JDC).

JDC was given responsibility for the project by the island's Minister for Infrastructure.

The company's chief executive Lee Henry said he hoped to reveal the proposals in the first few months of the year, but this was subject to conversations with stakeholders and the government.

He said they were "exciting proposals that would deliver significant all-weather facilities for the island".

At a public meeting to discuss revised plans to reshape St Helier's waterfront, Mr Henry said the plans for Fort Regent had been designed to complement the waterfront to avoid duplicate facilities.

He also said the plans for the Fort did not currently include a swimming pool.

Mr Henry added the continued use of the Aquasplash and proposals for a new outdoor 50m (164ft) pool at Les Jardins de La Mer meant another pool was not needed.
