Work planned for junction on main road in Hull
- Published
Work to upgrade traffic signals on a main road in Hull is due to start next month.
Hull City Council said the upgrade at the junction of Calvert Lane and Anlaby Road would improve traffic flow and make the junction safer for pedestrians.
The authority said work would take place during the spring half-term break to coincide with work to replace gas pipes at the same location.
A road closure on Calvert Lane will be in place between 15 and 23 February for the gas work. The signals upgrade is due to start on 17 February.
Highways bosses said there was usually lighter traffic during school holidays.
Mark Ieronimo, the council's portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways, said: "We know from speaking to our residents that road safety at this junction has been regularly highlighted and that is why we are taking the opportunity to upgrade the signals."
Temporary lights will be in place during the traffic signals work and there will be a diversion during the Northern Gas Networks project.
