City centre road closed as woman hit by car

Police described the incident as a "serious collision"

Part of a busy city centre road was closed after a woman was hit by a car.

The A1060 Parkway westbound through Chelmsford was temporarily blocked between the Odeon roundabout and Moulsham Street.

The collision happened just before 07:00 GMT, Essex Police said.

A force spokesperson said the road closure would remain in place while emergency services responded to what it described as a "serious collision".

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said the woman was transported to Broomfield Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
