A 14-year-old boy has become the third teenager to be charged in connection with the death of Kayden Moy in North Ayrshire last month.

Kayden, from East Kilbride, died after a large disturbance on Irvine beach on 17 May. The 16-year-old died at Crosshouse Hospital the next day.

Two 17-year-olds have already appeared in court charged with Kayden's murder.

And now a 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the death, and is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A 17-year-old male was previously arrested and charged in connection with Kayden's murder and appeared on petition at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on 20 May, where he entered no plea.

A second 17-year-old male was also arrested and charged and appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on 23 May.

He also entered no plea.

In a statement issued after his death, Kayden's family said he was "loved by so many" and that he would be sorely missed by his parents and two younger brothers.
