Views sought on GP out-of-hours service

Healthcare bosses in Shropshire want to know what people think about the county's out-of-hours GP service.
NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (NHS STW) is looking for feedback as it invites potential providers to bid for a contract of up to five years to run the service.
Medical care outside of general practice core hours is currently provided by Shropdoc.
Views on what works well with the service, and what could be improved, are being invited until Sunday 15 September via the NHS STW website., external
Those opinions would be used to shape the design of out-of-hours GP care as the official procurement process began, stated NHS STW.
The organisation commissions and oversees healthcare provision in the county.
NHS STW recognised "the crucial role" that the GP out-of-hours service played within the local health and care system, said Gemma Smith, director of commissioning.
"Our intention is to minimise any impact on our patients and residents as far as possible and we are committed on ensuring continued good access for patients," added Ms Smith.
