Jobseekers invited to city's careers fair

People who are out of work or want a change in career have been invited to attend a careers fair organised by a city council - with a chance to even get "hired on the spot".
It is being held at Sand Martin House, on Fletton Quays in Peterborough, on 6 November.
A range of opportunities would be available, the council said, including jobs in education, public health, town planning, regeneration and childminding.
Several roles would also be on offer with the authority's partners Vivacity, Aragon Direct Services and Milestone Infrastructure. The fair opens from 13:00 until 15:00, and then from 16:30 until 18:30 GMT.
Earlier this year, the council said it hoped to employ more young people, with only 3% of its workforce aged between 16 and 24.
As of March, the council's employment figures showed 80% of staff were between 35 and 64.
Dennis Jones, Labour leader of Peterborough City Council, said: "We're looking forward to welcoming people to the careers fair and would advise anyone coming along to bring their CV with them.
"Visitors can have informal chats with managers, register their interest in a role or even get hired on the spot.
"The council offers many benefits for employees, including flexible and agile working with hours that can fit around you, training, development and support to achieve qualifications, generous annual leave allowance and pension scheme, as well as an employee benefits scheme."
Those interested in attending have been advised to register in advance, external.
