Two people have been charged in connection with an incident in which a teenager was left with life-changing injuries.

The victim, who is now 19, was found lying injured in New Bedford Road, close to Telford Way in Luton, in the early hours of 2 June 2022.

At the time, police believed it to be a hit-and run collision.

The man and woman have both been charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.

The 37-year-old woman appeared at Luton Magistrates Court on 22 February and charged with conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

She has since been bailed and is due to appear at Luton Crown Court on 25 March.

Bedfordshire Police said a man in his 40s has also been charged with the same offence but has yet to appear in court.
