A man in his 30s became unresponsive in the custody suite at South Park police station in Lincoln, Lincolnshire Police say

A man has died after becoming "unresponsive" in a police custody suite.

Lincolnshire Police said the man in his 30s, who has not been named, was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday.

The force said he became unresponsive while in the custody suite at Lincoln Police Station on South Park.

He was taken to hospital where he died at 08:40 GMT, police said.

The force said the man's family had been informed and that it had made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
